TRANSLATION & LOCALISATION ACROSS MULTIPLE PROJECTS
We supported PREFA on more than thirty projects in which we localised technical documentation, price lists, catalogues, certificates, website texts, reference materials and product-related content. Projects frequently required translating predominantly German source content into multiple languages on tight deadlines—calling for parallel project management and robust, reliable workflows.
LANGUAGE ENGINEERING & RE-SEGMENTATION
Each translation was preceded by targeted language engineering, where we optimised the source text’s segmentation and structure. As a result, efficiency improved significantly and we achieved substantial cost savings compared with the client’s previous language service providers.
PROMPTLOC MACHINE TRANSLATION VIA API
Within the client’s memoQ Server environment, we deployed our in-house PromptLoc machine translation solution via an API connection. PromptLoc was configured to work directly with the language resources stored on the client’s server—so AI-powered translation consistently followed terminology and formatting rules and fully reflected the client’s language preferences.
Delivered via the memoQ Server
We managed every project directly in the client’s memoQ Server environment, using their own translation memories and terminology databases. This ensured that everything aligned with PREFA’s internal standards, terminology guidelines and quality assurance requirements throughout the collaboration. Because all work happened within their own environment, the client could track every step in real time and continue using their established reporting system.
Challenges
The key challenge was to deliver major efficiency gains and significant cost reduction without compromising linguistic or technical quality—while handling a high volume of projects across many language pairs and content types. Equally important was ensuring every solution integrated seamlessly into the client’s existing memoQ Server setup, without disrupting proven workflows.
Solutions
By combining server-side PromptLoc machine translation, targeted language engineering and rigorous memoQ-based quality assurance, we built a workflow that seamlessly integrated AI-assisted specialist translation into the client’s existing infrastructure, maximised efficiency through source-text re-segmentation and structured pre-processing, ensured consistent adherence to terminology and formatting requirements across all languages.
Results
Delivered a standout reduction in costs compared with the previous language service providers working for the same client enabled faster turnaround times—without compromising quality, provided a scalable workflow built for ongoing, high-volume multilingual projects.
"Our company has 22 locations across Europe, so we have a correspondingly high demand for translation services. We greatly appreciate the professional cooperation with EDIMART, which delivers on time and in the highest quality."
