Additional Language Services

  • Proofreading & Revision — Revision is the independent review and correction of a completed translation by a second linguist, ensuring that the text accurately conveys the original content. Its purpose is to make sure the translation is professionally reliable, linguistically natural, and of impeccable quality.
  • Certified translation — A translation endorsed by the Language Service Provider as attested by its corporate name duly signed on its behalf qualifies as official translation. Through the endorsement of the translation, the Language Service Provider certifies that the translation is identical in terms of content and equivalent in its meaning to those of the source language text.
  • In-country Review — Final review by a native linguist focusing on the fluency, natural flow, and market-readiness of the text.
  • Creative Translation (Transcreation) — A creative approach to translating marketing messages, adapting them to the cultural nuances of the target audience.

What is the difference between a sworn and an official (certified) translation? Can Edimart provide sworn translations?

Edimart provides certified translations: we attach a certification clause written in the target language to the revised translation, in which the translator (or reviser) and Edimart attest that the target text corresponds in content to the source text, and we affix our company stamp.

For company documents (documents related to company registration), our certified translation qualifies as a sworn translation under the applicable Hungarian regulation (Section 6/A of MT Decree 24/1986 (VI. 26.)). For most business, official and foreign uses, a certified translation is sufficient.

Certain public administration procedures may require a separate sworn translation issued by the designated state body — if you are not sure which one you need, tell us where you will submit the document and we will confirm whether our certified translation is enough.

What documents can you certify?

For corporate clients, we can provide certified translations of documents such as company extracts, contracts, legal materials, forms, and employee documents, including birth certificates and diplomas, provided the translation is commissioned by the company.

We recommend the most suitable workflow based on the document’s complexity and level of risk. For straightforward official documents, this may involve machine translation followed by full human post-editing and review by a qualified linguist. For legal or higher-risk materials, we may recommend a two-linguist workflow or a fully human specialist translation. All options are available with certification.

Do you also work with private individuals?

No — Edimart works exclusively with corporate and institutional clients, and we do not accept assignments from private individuals.

If your company requires translations of documents for its employees, such as diplomas or birth certificates, we can of course provide these as part of a corporate order.

As a private individual, we recommend visiting the list of Proford member agencies, where you can find translation agencies that do not work exclusively with corporate clients.

How much does translation cost? What determines translation prices?

We use transparent, per-word pricing — the internationally preferred model — so quotes are easy to compare. The price depends on:

  • the volume of the source text
  • the language pair and the subject field
  • the chosen workflow (revised or non-revised, machine translation with post-editing, etc.)
  • the deadline
  • the format of the source document — for non-editable files (e.g. a scanned PDF), a desktop publishing (DTP) fee may apply

We store your completed translations in a translation memory and reuse them automatically, so you receive discounts for repetitions — including matches from earlier projects. Over time, your translations become more and more cost-effective.

We always quote a specific price based on the actual document — send us the file and we will prepare a no-obligation quote.

What is the difference between revised and non-revised translation?

Traditionally, revised translation has been seen as the highest level of quality: one linguist translates the text, and a second linguist checks and refines it. Today, however, not every document needs such a complex workflow — we recommend the approach based on purpose and risk:

  • For internal use or quick reference: PromptLoc™ machine translation, even without post-editing. This is very different from free online tools: the process runs in a secure business environment, overseen by a project manager and supported by automated quality checks.
  • For texts shared with clients, partners, or the public: professional post-editing by a translator.
  • For complex, legal, high-risk, or brand-sensitive content: a two-linguist post-editing workflow, target-language review, or fully human professional translation.

In this way, each document gets the level of human involvement and quality assurance that matches its purpose, risk level, and budget.

How does a translation project work? Do you use machine translation?

At Edimart, we combine advanced language technology with human expertise. Our proprietary machine translation solution, PromptLoc™, is built on more than 20 years of localization experience. It does not simply translate sentence by sentence: it takes into account the full document, project-specific terminology, previous translations, background information, and client-specific instructions.

As a result, PromptLoc™-based translation is significantly more accurate, consistent, and customizable than generic online machine translation tools or off-the-shelf subscription-based translation solutions. Every workflow is supported by professional preparation, project manager oversight, and automated quality assurance. Where needed, we add professional post-editing by one or two linguists, or a separate target-language review step.

For most translation projects today, the best balance of quality, speed, and cost-efficiency comes from combining machine translation with human expertise. We usually recommend fully human specialist translation only when the language pair, confidentiality requirements, or a particularly high level of risk make it necessary.

What languages and subject fields do you translate?

We work from Hungarian and English into 50+ languages with native professionals. Besides the most common language pairs — English–Hungarian, German–Hungarian, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Slovak, Polish, Czech, Serbian and Croatian, as well as Korean, Japanese and Chinese — we cover many more. Our main subject fields include:

  • Technical and manufacturing translation – machine manuals, user guides, operating instructions, safety data sheets, technical documentation.
  • Automotive translation – OEM and supplier documentation.
  • Legal and financial translation – contracts, company documents, tender and compliance materials.
  • IT and software localization – user interfaces, help content, documentation.
  • Medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical translation.
  • Food and beverage translation – product labels, specifications.
  • Marketing and creative translation, and publication-ready brand materials.

Every project is handled by a linguist experienced in the given field.

Why choose Edimart? What guarantees do you offer for quality?

For more than two decades, Edimart has been at the forefront of professional language services, supporting large corporate clients with reliable, scalable translation solutions.

  • Certified quality: we operate in line with ISO 9001, ISO 17100 for translation services, and ISO 27001 for information security, and hold professional liability insurance.
  • Strong professional background: we are a founding member of Proford, the Association of Professional Translation Service Providers in Hungary, and a member of the international GALA association.
  • Industry-leading technology: our proprietary PromptLoc™ system and automated workflows enable faster turnaround times and more cost-efficient delivery, while maintaining a consistently high standard of quality.

For our clients, this means clear processes, strict data handling, and transparent project management from start to finish.

How do you handle confidential materials?

We treat every document confidentially, in line with the ISO 27001 information security standard, and sign a separate non-disclosure agreement on request.

Machine translation runs in our proprietary, closed PromptLoc™ system, not through public, free translation tools — so your texts never end up in the databases or training data of public AI services, but remain in a controlled environment that is also safe from a compliance perspective. Your data is used solely for the given job.
